Re: Wenger stepping down
He never successfully got out of, 'can't spend much because of the new stadium' mode, did he?

No not Chelsea.
Your missing my point. As of yesterday I'm 51.Arsenal in my lifetime have been consistently the most successful London club easily.
No other London club comes close.

I'm offering no opinion on this until I hear what Gardner and Swallow have to say about it at their next summit meeting.

It’s up to him
It IS a bit rich that they will all come back now and pretend nothing happened
They deserve to have Sam Allardyce appointed next.

Re: Wenger stepping down
I think it’s more him seeing all the empty seats at recent home league games and thinking .... we have lost at home to Man C & Man U and drawn with Liverpool and WON the rest (plus made the semi final of Europa) and THIS is what that those cunting arseholes of fans do.
They can all go fuck themselves and when they come crawling back this Sunday I am going to shit in my hands and launch it at them.

Something like that

Re: Wenger stepping down
I think that in his heart of hearts Wenger wanted to see out his contract and that being the case there must have been some coercion from the Arsenal Board for him to come to this decision.

Re: Wenger stepping down
I'm no youngster by any means but as long as I can remember Arsenal have been the most successful club in London by a distance.
Manchester city are living proof that today like it or not money buys success.
Wengers stubbornness not to splash out when funds have clearly available has bitten him in the minge.

"A minute's applause at every ground" ???

He's not fucking DIED. His next team will probably knock us out the Champions League,. Oh, wait.

Re: Wenger stepping down
He was never one for massive buys originally getting the likes of Henry, Pires, Vieira, Ljungberg etc for reasonable fees before they were that well known.
Lately he seems resistant to buying the right players (defensive midfielder!) , buying ordinary players (Mustafi , Zhaka) , buying the same player twice ( Aubamayang & Lacazette) and not getting rid of players who have outlived their usefulness

I’d still take him instead of Moyes

Re: Wenger stepping down
A great manager in his day...but has lost his ability in the past few years...
Has made more than his share of dodgy signings as he has aged...lost the plot...
Respect for his past...but not top Orem quality any more...

Re: Wenger stepping down
Just heard the Bob Wilson interview.
Was obviously emotional because he was talking about the support Wenger gave him personally when he was the goalkeeping coach and his daughter died of cancer.
Described him as one the 3 greatest men he has ever met in his life.

He completely transformed Arsenal with the things he introduced and to be honest the average whining Gooner doesn’t deserve him.
Be honest about it he is going a year early because the fans have acted like cunts.
They haven’t turned up for the last 4 or 5 home league games ... which I think they have WON!
Probably the last straw
